We have been deprived of the knowledge that we are more than just our physical bodies.
As many of us know the human body is made up of energy, and this is Physics. When we discuss the concept of energy, and how it relates to the human experience it really can take us far beyond what we know or believe. Keeping in mind, we are mental, emotional, physical and spiritual beings and experience life on all those levels simultaneously. We are living in a multi-dimensional reality, with that brings an expanded awareness to what we are capable of, in the innate intelligence of the human experience. We explore everyday life eating, seeing, hearing, feeling and doing, how many of us experience life just ‘being?’ This is the key to gaining a richer experience in our lives, that is exploring the multi-energy awareness we have within the human body. For example, multiple realities can be accessed in our sleep states, in mediation and chanting. These experiences can be much broader and richer than our day-to-day life in our ‘awake’ states. There are many types of transformational energies that can be accessed through meditation. Not only this, but even exercising a believe system that supports psychic or supernatural realities also enrich energy awareness. The body consists of many types of energies that are transformational in nature. Once you learn to access, you have the power and control to exercise ‘energy’ to work in your best interest. For example, wound healing, accessing energy reserves or prompting your body to highlight internal or external fields. In addition, these energies within can provide insight, spiritual evolution and mental and emotional healing to the highest degree. Tools like crystals can be used help access increased energy awareness, as well as ‘to feel’ energy within and surrounding the body. The information below corresponds to a fairly well known experience had by many, including myself. This energy is within each of us. With a full Kundalini rising, the energy travels from the root chakra, up and out of the crown and back to root chakra. This spiritual awakening that can affect personal consciousness in a very positive way.
Kundalini Awakening or Rising
A Kundalini Awakening happens in very few people, it can be a happy event or it can be scary and disruptive, depending on whether you aroused your kundalini on purpose or by accident. In Hindu mythology, Kundalini is a serpent goddess who lies asleep at the base of the spine, coiled three and a half times around the Root Chakra. Her name is Kundalini Shakti, and she represents the unfolding of the divine Shakti energy, the energizing potential of life itself, and a living goddess who enlivens all things. Under certain circumstances, the Kundalini energy awakens and begins to rise through the body, piercing and opening the Chakras as it moves in her undulating, snake-like fashion. As Kundalini releases stored and blocked energies, her movement can be quite intense, sometimes painful, and often leads to mental states that seem out of this world. Circumstances that stimulate Kundalini awakening are many and varied, but are usually triggered by such things as extended periods of meditation, yoga, fasting, stress, trauma, psychedelic drugs, or near death experiences. Kundalini is a condensed, primal force, similar to the potential energy found in water.
When Kundalini Energy is released, it creates a vertical connection between the Chakras by opening the subtle channels known as nadi, most specifically, the central channel that moves up the spine called sushumna. If we put water through a small hose at very high pressure, the end of the hose will undulate like a snake. Similarly, the intense energy of Kundalini undulates in the body as it rises through the Chakras. An awakening or rising of the Kundalini becomes awakened in the Root Chakra, from the base of the spine within a few minutes the sacrum folds and the energy is transferred to the Sacral Chakra. This transfer can be very uncomfortable and pleasurable at the same time and could take some time, like 10-15 minutes. The Chakras can be highlighted in the body quite clearly during the transfer of energy moving up the spine from Chakra to Chakra. The Chakras are distinctly identified with horizontal straight lines across the body. The energy generally spends a few minutes or more in each Chakra. When it reaches up to the Crown Chakra, the Kundalini energy exits the body at the crown then spends time in the divine light source of the higher consciousness. It can spend a varied amount of time there, a few minutes to 10-15 minutes. During that time, the body will feel like the ‘life force energy’ has ascended, and the general feeling is empty but not scary, serene like. Once it has finished in the divine, it should return to the body through the crown, continue down the spine spending time in each Chakra again on its decent, all the way to the base of the spine, either way the energy has to return to the body to complete the cycle of the awakening. If it stops at a particular Chakra on its decent, it’s likely because there is a physical/emotional block there. The block can be freed, through energy work or any other holistic approach you choose. It takes the right practitioner to get the energy moving, in combination with your own emotional, energetic work. This experience is exciting and not freaky, at best you want to be surrounded by the right people that can assist you through this time, people who are grounded and calm. The best way to engage and welcome this movement of energy in your body is to remain calm, allowing the energies to flow. The days, weeks and years following can be very prophetic, mystical experiences can occur; psychic abilities heightened, creativity or genius states may follow, including a rise to healing with energy. It also sets the palette of your body to engage in and highlight other transformational energies to move within it. Different yogic poses, breathing techniques, or practices encourage the awakening of other energies within the body. If the Kundalini life force energy has entered your world, email me for information and here is a list of things you may want to adopt in your daily life to synergize with the changes that come with the awakening:
- Abstain from recreational drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine, prescription drugs. Avoid food additives, high sugars, or greasy foods. Eat well, especially protein, which is generally grounding. Get massage and cardiovascular exercise
- Reduce stress-you are in for a major spiritual transformation, make time for the necessary changes in your life. You may need to devote more time to your spirituality or health.
- Take this time to do emotional clearing, personal growth and follow your bliss, intuition and knowing. Examine your spiritual practices.
- If you have not been practicing meditation, yoga or some spiritual practice, it may be time to begin.
- Practice grounding- Investigate the possibility of the first chakra issues, birth trauma, adoption etc. A good grounding practice is to breathe into the belly drawing energy downward and visualizing roots dropping down from the soles of the feet miles into the earth. Practice daily.
The first book I read shortly after my Kundalini awakening was Energies of Transformation by Transpersonal psychotherapist Bonnie Greenwell. Greenwell and physicist Paul Pond and others of Kundalini Research Network (KRN) hypothesize that Kundalini may be linked to some forms of mental illness this matches my belief as well. One of KRN’s goals to is make Kundalini known to the Western world, especially the scientific and medical communities, therapists, health care workers and those who have had Kundalini experiences but may not realize it. The importance of this, is many younger generation teenagers can be experiencing these powerful movements of energy through their body and not realize what is happening. The worst case scenarios is these individuals are bening placed in the Mental wards of hospitals and drugged. For more information or questions contact: Christina@healingcurrent.com
