In-Person Energy Healing
In-person Energy Healing in Newmarket, ON.
The objective of in-person energy healing can differ widely depending on the individual’s needs. Some people seek to release trauma held in the body as a result of emotional or physical injuries. Others may be looking to regulate their autonomic nervous system or restore energetic balance, often referred to as balancing the body’s life force or “Chi.” Individuals experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, or depression may also benefit, as these conditions are frequently linked to unresolved emotional experiences that become somatically stored when not fully processed. But how does this actually work—and what’s the science behind it? Read on to learn more.
What is in-person energy healing and how does it work?
An in-person energy healing session shares many similarities with a distance session, with the primary distinction being the option for direct somatic touch. Both approaches are based on the concept that the human body, like the Earth, generates and is surrounded by an electromagnetic field. Research in bioelectromagnetics supports the idea that living organisms emit measurable electromagnetic signals, and some integrative health practices suggest that maintaining coherence within this field is essential for overall well-being.
The body’s interaction with the Earth’s electromagnetic field—often referred to as “grounding” or “earthing”—is believed to play a regulatory role in physiological processes such as inflammation, circadian rhythms, and autonomic nervous system balance. This connection may support the body’s ability to restore homeostasis and promote healing.
Within the framework of energy medicine, the body is also understood to possess a subtle energy system, often described in terms of energy centers or “chakras.” These centers are thought to oscillate at specific frequencies and maintain a dynamic polarity that supports energetic flow throughout the system. Although chakras are not part of the conventional biomedical model, they are central to many traditional healing systems and are considered key components in facilitating energy healing and fostering mind-body integration.
What happens during an in-person energy healing session?
Much like a distant energy healing session, the approach to Christina’s energy healing is grounded in the body—it’s somatic, meaning it works with how the body physically holds and processes experiences. Rather than forcing change, through the energy field it gently guides the body to release trauma that may have been stored over time. Healing happens in layers, not all at once, allowing the body to feel safe and in control throughout the process.
Often, people may not consciously remember certain traumatic events, but their bodies still carry the imprint of those experiences. The vagus nerve—part of the nervous system that connects the brain and body—plays a role in protecting us from overwhelming memories by keeping some details out of conscious awareness.
As healing unfolds, emotions that have been stored in specific parts of the body—like joints, limbs, or energy centers—begin to loosen and release. This isn’t a dramatic or overwhelming experience. Instead, it’s a gentle, respectful process where your body leads the way, letting go of what it’s ready to release in its own time.
What can I expect during an in-person session?
Clients commonly report a variety of physical and perceptual sensations during energy healing sessions, as their attention is drawn to specific areas where energetic or somatic tension may be present. These patterns of stored energy—whether in muscles, joints, organs, or even associated with persistent cognitive-emotional loops—often become more apparent as the body’s internal awareness increases.
As the therapeutic process unfolds, the connection between the client’s conscious mind and their somatic experience tends to deepen. This may facilitate the emergence of intuitive or symbolic insights, sometimes described as a “reel” of information, which can help identify the root causes of physical or emotional discomfort without the emotion attached to the revelation of information.
Sessions often guide clients into a deeply relaxed neurological state, commonly associated with theta brainwave activity (4–8 Hz). This state has been linked in research to enhanced neuroplasticity, increased parasympathetic activity, and the safe processing of trauma-related material. In this state, the nervous system may begin to reorganize and release held patterns of stress, promoting a return to balance.
Following a session, individuals frequently report a reduction in anxiety, an increased sense of calm, and improvements in overall emotional and physiological regulation.

What types of conditions can in-person energy healing address?
Christina’s approach to energy healing does not aim to treat specific medical diagnoses, but rather to support the reorganization of the body’s energetic patterns. This modality is based on the understanding that chronic stress, anxiety, and depression may be manifestations of unresolved trauma, which can subtly disrupt multiple physiological systems over time.
Symptoms such as insomnia, sleep disturbances (including sleep apnea), restless leg syndrome, and difficulty achieving physical or mental stillness may reflect dysregulated autonomic nervous system activity, often associated with emotionally retained somatic memory within the body’s bioenergetic field.
During an energy healing session, fluctuations between parasympathetic dominance and abrupt sympathetic activation are interpreted as indicators of stored trauma within the body’s neurophysiological memory. These autonomic shifts reflect the nervous system’s attempt to process unresolved stress responses and may be part of the body’s effort to return to homeostasis.
What is mind/body energy healing Newmarket?
Mind-body energy healing is grounded in the understanding that psychological and physiological processes are deeply interconnected. Rather than viewing emotions, thoughts, stress, and trauma as solely cognitive phenomena, this approach considers them as expressions of underlying bioenergetic activity. From a psychophysiological perspective, the body and mind operate as an integrated system, where emotional experiences can produce measurable physiological effects—such as changes in heart rate variability, hormonal output, and nervous system regulation.
As bioenergetic beings, humans respond to life experiences not only mentally and physically but also through subtle shifts in the body’s electromagnetic field. These responses are often stored somatically, meaning the body retains energetic imprints of unresolved emotional or traumatic experiences. Working within the human energy field—sometimes referred to as the biofield—allows practitioners to engage with these deeper layers of the healing process, potentially influencing both psychological and physiological outcomes.
This integrative and holistic approach complements conventional healthcare by emphasizing the dynamic interplay between mind and body, and by addressing well-being through both measurable biological mechanisms and subtle energetic influences.
